Dear friends and family,
If you’ve been a part of the Leadership Huddles at Crossroads Church, you know there are few things that I am more passionate about than investing in unidentified and underserved leaders. If you have not been a part of the Huddles, you are likely familiar with Paul’s expectation that Timothy invest what he had been given into “faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” God has opened a door for me to invest in the lives of faithful men in Kenya. I have been invited to join a team from California and Ohio to go and engage pastors in Nairobi with, what I believe to be, life transforming training that will equip them to study and preach God’s Word in their churches. I am humbled and excited to be a part of what God is doing to raise up servant leadership for His Church in Kenya.
Ancient Promise, based in Auburn, California, has been building relationships with these pastors and has produced the study material we will be using. You can check out this ministry at www.ancientpromise.org. There is a significant spiritual and financial investment needed for this trip and I am convinced that the fruitfulness of this endeavor will depend on people praying for the team and for the pastors we will be serving. I also know that I cannot raise the needed funds for this trip on my own. The financial investment is about $4,200 for travel and living expenses. Would you prayerfully consider partnering with me by praying for me, supporting me financially, or both? I am asking God for a team of 40 people who will commit to pray daily for this mission July 26 through August 12 and for a team of people who will financially invest in sending me to serve these pastors. This is really an investment in the the Church in Uganda!
I can already tell this is going to be a journey of faith for me, a time to be stretched, to experience new growth, and, by His grace, a time of being fruitful for the Father’s glory. Please pray for me in the months leading up to the trip, during the trip itself, and even after I return. I believe God is going to “do a work in me” as a result of this incredible opportunity. He never leaves us, or gives up on us! I am asking you to consider how you would be willing to support me during this trip —with your prayers, your financial support, or both. I look forward to sharing with you how God is impacting my life and building His church in Africa.
Thank you, in advance, for partnering with me as I prepare for this adventure! I am so grateful for your support financially and prayerfully. I will be posting my prayer and financial needs online at sacredhunger.org. You can support me financially by mailing a check, made out to Crossroads Church, to the address on the financial support page or you can give online by using the button on the financial support page. Your contribution is tax deductible. You can pray anytime and anywhere!
Standing at the crossroads,
Jeremiah 6:16
